Cabin 09

Grandpa is always so much fun at the cabin and Jake counts on him to get extra candy and snacks when his mom isn't watching.

 A guilty sneaking snacks face.
Jake was the designated "go fetch the arrows that Jaxon shoots guy" and like always he was happy to help and be involved in the action. Jake has always been so good and sharing and helping others feel happy and welcome. He is never afraid to say hello and tell you his name. Just happy to play and be with others!

Lake Powell 09

Jake is finally able to do just what the older kids are doing and he has no fear at all. He was ready to knee board but his mom wasn't quite ready maybe next year. His facial expressions are a riot and he was just willing to eat snacks and hang out while we played endless rounds of Scrabble. Can't wait for next year.

Disney World and Cruise through Jake's eyes...

There was nothing better for a two year old than Disney World and a Disney Cruise. Jake was so good on all the airplane rides and it was so fun to see him get excited to see all these new things. The cruise was by far the best ever and Jake was all about the water. They had a rule that kids under 3 had to stay in the splash pad. We followed that at first but then Jake just wanted to be with the other kids. So I hiked up his swim trunks so you couldn't see the swim diaper and they never said anything because he was such a little fish! Sticking his face in and jumping in. No other 3 year olds were doing that. He loved the beach and most of all digging in the sand. What a fun trip!

Easter 2009

Some easter pictures of Jake, he had a fun time camping. Jaxon and him we so funny. Tiago, a friend of Jeff's from Brazil came with us and was funny with the kids and let Jake be silly with his mohawk wig!

Free Ridin

Jake did it! No training wheels and getting better everyday at it! He has been able to do it for a really long time, he has had the balance and everything. But he has just been scared of falling and would look back at me as I was holding his seat. He finally did it. We have practiced a lot. Finally one day though the kids went down to Jayme's house to play and everyone was riding bikes, he had been doing ok at it and decided to take his bike too. Later I found out the Jaxon held his seat and practiced with him the whole probably two hours they were gone and he now has the confidence. We try to practice everyday, its so exciting to have another rider in the family!

Jake turns Two

Winter in Ogden 2008

We went up to Ogden after Christmas and got to test out our tubing skills and our new snowshoes. I was surprised at how well Jake did in the snow, the cold didn't seem to bother him at all. I little carrying from dad never hurts either as they trekked up and down the hill. We luckily found a smaller tube hill for the kids to go down and Jake just wanted to lay in the snow and eat it. Fine with us I suppose.

Tube Hill 2008

We always new a big steep hill like this would one day come in handy for the kids instead of just a danger. Jim and dad were great to do all the work for us too. The boys helped pat down the curve to make sure we wouldn't crash into the wall. You can't forget to make a snowman when its this nice outside either. Jake was all about helping and as soon as the picture was taken and all was well he was ready to push that snowman back to the ground.

Hawkins Family Reunion 2008

The cabin is good for lots of things and just being silly is one of Jake's specialities. Grandpa always knows just how to tease and be silly too.

Hawaii and Jake

We went to Maui in November of 2007 and Jake had a great time. He was pretty good on the flight over. We had a hard time getting him to sleep at first and had to give him his standing bounce to get him to sleep but it was so much fun. He seriously ate so much sand that he pooped straight sand one day and had the absolute worst diaper rash I have ever seen. I couldn't figure out what was wrong until we checked it out. We let him fly free the rest of that day to help cure the rash. On this day we were in Kihei at the beach and dug Jake a hole with a big umbrella to shade him and he was happy to just sit there and play.

Three and Six Months

This first picture is of Jake at about three months old. Those big eyes just melt my heart! Jaxon was always so good to Jake, willing to help hold him and play with him. The second picture is Jake at 6 months old right after I shaved off that cute mohawk hair of his.
